July 29, 2010 Court orders Hearts to pay Addo US$ 13,300 An Accra Circuit court has ordered Hearts of Oak have to pay 19,000 Ghana cedis (US$ 13,300) to their former head coach Herbert Addo.
The amount represents monies owed the coach as a result of the premature termination of his contract by the club in 2004.
Additionally, the court also ordered the club to pay the amount in instalments.
The amount includes his contract fee, bonuses and some allowances by the club.
Addo, now in charge of Ghanaian champions Aduana Stars, told Ghanasoccernet.com he is happy with the verdict of the court.
“Everything is with my lawyer who has travelled out of the country but all the same I am very happy with this ruling.”
“You know, it is high time Ghanaian clubs stopped taking the local coaches for granted. Now I have hired the services of a lawyer, so he will handle all my legal issues. I will no more allow clubs to cheat me,” he added.
Hearts are believed to be getting ready to appeal the decision.
